The Memoir Method private intensive
For the writer who wants to move fast and work privately
You’re a good fit for private Memoir Method work if:
You prefer a private container over a group setting.
You want the flexibility to workshop on your own schedule.
You’re ready to move quickly and don’t want to wait for a cohort.
You want focused, one-on-one access to Charlotte without the full private coaching investment.
How the intensives work:
You work through the Memoir Method curriculum over the course of four to six weeks, touching base with me in four 60-minute calls scheduled at your convenience. We start as soon as you sign up. I will give you direct feedback in a private Google Doc and will review up to 15K words of your draft.
Investment: $2,222
Payment plans available.
We can kick off your intensive today and completely change your draft in four weeks.
What makes The Memoir Method different:
I know you: you’ve read the books and listened to the podcasts (maybe even mine!). Maybe even worked with another editor. I know that you know the principles. What you don’t yet have, though, is someone who can show you how to apply them to your specific story, your specific draft, and with your specific reader.
That’s the work I do with my clients.
Using The Memoir Method, we lock in the throughline of your memoir—the message that ties every scene together and creates a cohesive, resonant experience for your reader. Once that clicks, everything changes. You’ll know what to cut and what to keep. Editing becomes decisive instead of endless (which makes it way more fun!), and your draft feels like something you can actually finish.
What makes this work when everything else you’ve tried hasn’t is that I’m with you every step of the way. I’m not handing you a list of revisions and leaving you to figure it out, but am walking alongside you through the work so you always know you’re headed in the right direction.
The best part is that you can customize the format for how you go through The Memoir Method: You can choose a cohort experience or a more private container.
How we make sense of your current memoir draft:
In The Memoir Method private intensive, we go through the tools in four to six weeks and move through three distinct phases:
Choose your path: The Memoir Method framework is the same regardless of which format you choose. What’s different is how closely you’ll work with me, how fast you’ll move, and whether you want the energy of an intimate community or a fully private, 1:1 container.
Want to explore other options? Click on the buttons to learn about the different ways you can go through The Memoir Method.
Phase 1 (week 1): Lock in your foundation
We define your focus, your reader, and your memoir’s throughline. You may have touched on these concepts before, but here is where these principle click for your story and your draft. This is where you’ll feel that creative fog lift.
Phase 2 (week 2): Shape your story
We refine your structure, scene selection, and voice so that your message comes through clearly and sounding like you. This is where your memoir comes together into a cohesive experience for your reader and you think, I’m really going to finish this!
Phase 3 (weeks 3 and 4): Implement and move forward
You apply what you’ve learned directly to your manuscript and map your next steps in the publishing pipeline: revision, querying, even self-publishing.
The Memoir Method:
The coaching, editing, and workshop hybrid for memoir writers who are ready to stop circling their draft and finally finish it.
You’ve been working on your draft for literal years, and no matter what you’ve tried, your memoir is still missing something. The magic hasn’t clicked yet, and you don’t know where to find it.
Your draft feels scattered, heavy, and most days, impossible to finish. You’ve rewritten scenes, moved chapters, added context, written more, deleted it. But it doesn’t matter what you do, you are no closer to a published book from when you started.
This is where my writers find me. They’re asking me things like:
Why can’t I figure out what to cut and what to keep?
Why does my story feel so scattered even though I’ve worked so hard?
Why does editing feel like I’m undoing everything instead of making progress?
Here’s what I know after fifteen years of working with memoir writers: you don't need more time. You need to know what to do with the time you have. You need to know what your memoir is actually saying, who it’s for, and what deserves to be on the page. Once you have those pieces, the structure, pacing, voice, and conclusion (everything you’re so frustrated with right now) slot into place.
This is exactly why I built The Memoir Method.
“The work I was able to do within The Memoir Method completely transformed how I will tell my story. Charlotte is an invaluable resource for authors in all stages, but especially for those who view themselves as aspiring authors. Her structured program helps you understand that you already are an author, because you have a story to tell.”
—Liz, writer in the winter 2026 cohort
Whew—that was a lot!

What other writers have to say about The Memoir Method with Charlotte
Every single penny was worth it. Charlotte helped me understand parts of my own story through new lenses. Sometimes you’re too close to your own story and because of that, you can’t see it clearly. Charlotte will help you dissect your story and piece it together in a way that makes sense to anyone who reads it.
—Liz, spring 2026 cohort writerCharlotte is not your typical editor. She cares deeply about you and your story and will do everything to help you refine it in a way that will help you succeed. She is the biggest cheerleader and makes you feel like you, and your story, matters. This process works!
—Julie, spring 2026 cohort writerThe Memoir Method is a one-of-a-kind program for helping you get unstuck in your writing. It teaches you skills about writing you never learned in school with the support of a coach and community to help you get across the finish line.
—Rob, winter 2026 cohort writer

Your draft feels like a scrambled mess you can’t pull together.
You have hundreds of pages of writing (tens of thousands of words) and no idea what to do with them.
You’ve worked with editors before or taken other courses but still don’t feel like anyone understands what you’re trying to say.
You’re tired of rewriting without knowing whether it’s helping or making your draft worse.
You want an author who understands the creative process and can be a true creative partner.
You’re craving clarity, not just in your writing but in who you are meant to be as an author.
I can speak to this work, because I am also a writer. I understand the creative process, its ups and downs, and I know the mental and practical shifts you need to take your memoir from its current state to a published one.
If you want to write a memoir, you are meant to. The creative process is not meant to elude you, and I’m here to make this work accessible, fun, and transformative. Ready to go? Because I am.
